Coronavirus Adjustments

In light of recent events, I wanted to provide an update of next steps for us as a church.

1 Peter 5:7 “casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

Isn’t it encouraging to know that we can cast our burdens and fears upon a good God who is in control and in authority over every circumstance? God has not abandoned us in times of trial, but is present with His church, sustaining and empowering them.
With that in mind we have been prayerfully considering as an elder team the challenges before us from the Coronavirus. This season will require change on our part, but I also believe there is great potential for fruitful ministry. This is a time when people can be awakened to the reality that they are more vulnerable than they are prone to realize and need the Rescuer. We recognize that the church is not a building, it is the people of God spread out as lights in the community. It is my hope that our community would feel Jesus’ love through our acts of service, emotional, and prayer support.
With the recent restrictions given by our governing authorities, we are putting our “in person” worship gatherings on hold for now. None of us want to stop meeting, but we all recognize Scripture’s call for us to honor and submit to our governing authorities. In addition, if these actions result in keeping sickness away from “at risk” people, then it is a worthwhile way to love our neighbors. In place of our Sunday gatherings we will be “live streaming” our worship services at 10 AM on Sundays via Youtube & Facebook.  We encourage you to tune in this Sunday with us, to sing, pray, worship, and study God’s Word together. In a similar way, all our weekly Life Groups are transitioning, as much as possible, toward meeting online as well.
We also are wanting to be especially alert to the needs of our church body, and the Deer Park area. To that end, we we are assembling a team of people who would be willing and able to run errands or provide support for our church body. If interested in serving please CLICK HERE  In addition, I’ve been communicating with a number of other Deer Park area churches and we have a plan in place to serve those quarantined in our community who do not have church support. Finally, if you are self quarantining, and need some help, please CLICK HERE to let us know, or send an email to .
  1. Our Sunday worship gatherings are on pause for the near future.
  2. We will provide a “live stream” worship service this Sunday at 10 AM on Youtube & Facebook. Please join in, worship, pray, study, and feel free to comment online during the stream.
  3. We need people who will serve to meet needs, and we need to know who is in need. Please be generous in service and alert to the needs. If someone is isolated and vulnerable, we want to help.
  4. God is good, in control, we rest and rejoice in that truth.
